WFWRD Announces Rate Hike

The Wasatch Front Waste & Recycling District provides garbage and recycling pickup services to most of Millcreek, as well as to Cottonwood Heights, Herriman, Holladay,  Taylorsville, portions of Murray and Sandy; the Metro Townships of Copperton, Emigration, Kearns, Magna and White City; and the unincorporated areas of Salt Lake County.

Recently, the District’s administrative board approved a fee increase commencing January 2, 2018. Here is the District’s explanation:

The Wasatch Front Waste fees for 2018 will increase $2.25 per month to a total of $17 per month/per home ($204 per year) for one garbage can and one recycle can, plus all the other services you get in your service package (Big Cottonwood Canyon residents’ fees will remain unchanged). Additional garbage cans will increase $2 per month ($24 per year) to a total of $204 each per year. Additional recycle cans will be $3 per month ($36 per year)

Customers can help keep fees low by recycling as much as possible. Over 60 percent of the materials at the landfill can be recycled.

Wasatch Front Waste & Recycling District is a non-profit government agency. The fees charged to customers are just to sustain services. There is no profit made by the District.

The governing board of the District is made up of elected representatives from the areas we serve: Cottonwood Heights, Herriman, Holladay, Millcreek, Taylorsville, portions of Murray and Sandy; the Metro Townships of Copperton, Emigration, Kearns, Magna and White City; along with the unincorporated areas of Salt Lake County
