The Millcreek Promise Initiative is a unique collaboration, with United Way of Salt Lake, Millcreek Promise Leadership Committee, Subcommittees and many additional partners still to join who mobilize and support the success for all Millcreek youth and families through specific goals in areas of:

  • Enhancing the economic well being of Millcreek residents who are unemployed or underemployed or that have had life experiences that have denied them from access to education or vocational training that would result in their being able to better provide for themselves and their families
  • Strengthening and supporting our local schools to maximize academic success and educational outcomes-envisioning all Millcreek youth as graduates
  • Working together to create a safer, healthier community through resident engagement and support of local law enforcement and fitness and nutrition programs and health provider partnerships

Promise of Change

We do this through mobilizing our subcommittees towards Collective Impact work to change discriminating and inequitable community conditions at a zip code level. We promise to use our built environment to address barriers to education, health and safety, and economic wellbeing. This initiative will be a catalyst for youth success; creating opportunities, and mitigating issues facing many of the city’s young people and their families.

Millcreek Promise will accomplish its work through partnership and institutionalization of programs proven to get to the outcomes desired. We seek to apply changes through:

  • Advocacy
  • Local engagement
  • Grants
  • Policy
  • Supporting quality services and programs wherever they are within the city
