Promise overview

The Millcreek Promise Program is a unique collaboration with United Way of Salt Lake, our promise executive team, leadership committee, subcommittee members, residents, volunteers, and many additional partners who mobilize and support the success of Millcreek youth and families through specific promises:

3 PROMISES

1. EDUCATION: Strengthen and support our local schools to maximize academic success and educational outcomes envisioning all Millcreek youth as graduates.

2. HEALTH AND SAFETY: Work together to create a safer, healthier community through resident engagement, support of local law enforcement, fitness & nutrition programs, and health provider partnerships.

3. ECONOMIC WELL-BEING: Enhance the economic well-being of Millcreek residents who are unemployed, underemployed or that have been denied access to education or vocational training that would result in their being able to better provide for themselves and their families.

PROMISE MISSION & VISION

We aim to mobilize and support the success for all Millcreek youth and families through specific goals in areas of health, safety, economic wellbeing, and education.

We do this through mobilizing our collaborative groups towards Collective Impact  in order to improve community conditions at a neighborhood, zip code and block level. We promise to use our built environment to address barriers to access transformative and high quality education, health and safety, and economic wellbeing offerings in Millcreek. This initiative is meant to be a catalyst for youth success; creating opportunities, and address equity pipeline issues facing many of the city’s young people and their families.  Millcreek Promise will accomplish this work through partnerships and implementation of programs proven to get to the outcomes desired. We seek to apply changes through:
